Bridgetown Camp is one of seven Fairbridge’s Camp’s, located througout Western Australia. Originally designed so that government school students could extend their educational opportunities outside the regular school setting, the Camp is now available to all schools and community groups. Bridgetown Camp offers exciting programs which motivate children of all ages and help to develop their self-esteem, teamwork and co-operative skills. Activities and programs are designed to link to the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority’s (SCSA) Western Australian Curriculum.
Tranquillity and breathtaking views make Bridgetown the ideal place for a camp experience and establish a base from which to explore the regions wealth of attractions.
The town has rustic charm with a unique wooded backdrop. Once the apple growing centre of the state, Bridgetown is now famous for its rolling hillsides, scenic drives, jarrah forests, starry nights and the longest continually flowing river in the state, the mighty Blackwood.
Explore Pemberton (70 km from Bridgetown) which boasts the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree (parks.dpaw.wa.gov.au/site/dave-evans-bicentennial-tree) pegged as part of Australia’s Bicentennial in 1988. This 68 m fire lookout is situated in the magnificent old growth forest of the Warren National Park.
A 2.4km walk to the Warren Lookout takes in the best of the Karri Forest and the Warren River Valley. The view from the lookout to the Warren River is superb and is well worth the walk and why not check out the Cascades – a long stretch of rapids set deep in the Karri Forest and is an ideal picnic spot.
Beedelup Falls a short loop walk over both wooden bridge and a suspension bridge gives great views of the falls.
Big Brook Dam is an excellent spot for swimming, fishing, picnics, canoeing mountain bike riding and games with BBQ and change room facilities, and a 3.4 km walk/ride trail around the dam. (parks.dpaw.wa.gov.au/sites/default/files/downloads/parks/2009397_big_brook.pdf)

Our mountain biking program is designed to offer a selection of rides with the most popular in the Pemberton’s Mountain Bike Park, situated amongst the Karri Forest overlooking the Pemberton Pool and adjacent to the Camp .Other rides include Big Brook Dam are suitable for different abilities and year groups.
Canoeing & Rafting – students can enjoy canoeing using Canadian canoes (Wobbygongs) with supervised instruction undertaken on Big Brook Dam or alternatively they can build their owns rafts from tyres and pipes and then test their construction as they set sail on a maiden voyage.
The Manjimup Heritage Park provides a unique experience that combines museum and recreation activities in the same place.
Discover a series of museum exhibitions and displays that tell the story of the region’s history including the Age of Steam Museum and Historic Hamlet.
The Historic Hamlet also contains History House which is home to the Manjimup Historical Society who collect, record, classifi
y and preserve records relating to the history of Manjimup and the region.
The recreation area boasts generous lawn space, gazebos, barbeques, tables, and plenty of shade underneath native vegetation. In the heart of the Park is an awe-inspiring 17m tall lookout with giant slide beside one of the best free inter-generational adventure playgrounds in Western Australia.
The Bridgetown Camp can accommodate up to 91 (including adults and bus drivers). The dormitory accommodation is divided into two wings – the North Wing and the South Wing.
Fairbridge staff will support you to achieve your specific objectives through the design of programs for the students/participants for the camp and/or particular values on which you may want to concentrate
