Kalgoorlie Camp

 

 

 

Kalgoorlie Camp is one of seven Fairbridge’s Camp’s, located throughout Western Australia. Originally designed so that government school students could extend their educational opportunities outside the regular school setting, the Camp School is now available to all schools and community groups.  Kalgoorlie Camp offers exciting programs which motivate children of all ages and help to develop their self-esteem, teamwork and co-operative skills.

The Kalgoorlie campsite can accommodate 139 people with a configuration of 7 separate dormitories with 104 beds, and 11 staff/adult rooms with 35 beds. There are separate student and staff toilet and shower blocks located adjacent to the dormitories. All dormitories have reverse cycle air-conditioning.

Disability access – there is one separate universal access toilet (UAT) and shower. The camp site has ramp access to the internal courtyard area.

Kalgoorlie offer excellent cultural opportunities to visitors, which Fairbridge are delighted to be able to offer through external provider excursions, including:

Recreational excursions are available to Orana Cinemas, Goldfields Oasis and YMCA or why not  try the Bush breakfast, a great way to start the day.  The breakfast is conducted at the back of the Camp where students cook their own jaffles, toad in the hole and kangaroo tasting and end the day with Goldrush games an Interactive game where students problem solve, team build and learn basic bush survival skills – students earn their Miners Rights.

Fairbridge staff will support you to achieve your specific objectives through the design of programs for the students/participants for the camp and/or particular values on which you may want to concentrate.

Activities and programs are designed to links to the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority’s (SCSA) Western Australian Curriculum.
